So -

I've got given an E5-2609 V4 as a present from a friend who is upgrading. It's an ES version of the CPU (Engineering Sample) and has 'E5-2609 V4 RTL' written on the front of it in permanent marker. Not entirely sure how my friend got hold of it.

I was wondering whether it would be a decent option for a gaming rig - I would be looking to spend about £750 and pair it with a 1070 and was wondering whether I might get bottlenecked as it is a Xeon.

thanks in advance

You are currently in possession of stolen property. Intel's Engineering samples belong to Intel and are loaned out for testing but are suppose to be returned to Intel or destroyed(depending on the companies contract with Intel). They are not suppose to be sold or given away. We will not assist with illegal activity so I am closing the thread.
