Better IPC, more efficient. Beats a lower clocked Intel i5 in games that don't use more than 2 cores. Plus, i3-6100 supports DDR4 memory which is faster. Plus, the i3 has upgrade paths to i5 and i7.
Or wait for new AMD processors releasing next month.

the AMD FX CPUs are 5+years old and on a dead platform compared to the I3 6100 which is close to 2 year old tech. cores do not matter, some 4 core intel I5 CPU's easily outperform 8 core AMD CPU's
