I'm running an ASRock z97 Extreme 4 motherboard with a Intel i7-4790k cpu. The board supports Dual Channel DDR3/DDR3L 3200+(OC) . All the components are new out of the box. From the begging, I had problems with the memory. I have 2 corsair vengeance pro series CMY16GX3M2A2499C11R , DDR3, 16GB 2400MHz 11-12-12-31. They will not run in the right slots. Both will run independent but will not run together in slots 1, 3. I tried 1,2 out of curiosity and it works perfect. As far as I know it won't run in dual-channel mode like that. I thought It shouldn't run at all like that so I'm very confused. On top of that im trying to add two more chips but as you can guess thats not going well. tried all different combinations and all I can get to work is slot 1,2. Any thoughts would be helpfull. Thank you.

You need to check your cpu socket for bent pins. 9 times out of 10 a RAM slot not working is down to the memory controller not being able to communicate with the CPU.

It may be that a hard CMOS reset will help, but the first thing I'd check is the MB socket.
