As the title thread says,i just bought and installed my wdblue blue 1tb to replace my 7 year old 500 gig HDD. I installed the blue and turn on pc, only to find my system now takes almost 10 minutes to boot. In mybios, MSI motherboard model fm2-a75ma-e35, in hard drive BBS priority, I can only choose either my SSD as a boot drive or new HDD. Before I could have both HDD and SSD in my boot priority lineup, but not with this new one. I have SSD in sata 1, HDD in sata 2 and cd drive in sata 3. Im fairly sure all three sata cords are 6gig. I know for sure cd and SSD sata cords are that speed. Ivd tried the 6gb speed cords on the new blue but no go.

Edit: The new 1tb hd is empty, formatted and unallocated

Welcome to the community, @Jon_62!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the new WD Blue HDD. :( It sounds like there could be something wrong with it or the connectivity to it. Since you have already tried all the other SATA cables with the drive and it still performs poorly, I'd also suggest you check how it would get recognized from a different SATA port on your mobo. It might also be a good idea to check how it would behave in another working PC (if you have access to one). In case you manage to recognize it properly, make sure you run the QUICK a nd EXTENDED tests from our Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows. It will help us determine the health and SMART stats of your WD HDD. Make sure you don't store any important files on it, until we have resolved the issue.

If both systems are bottlenecked by the WD Blue in anyway, I'd advise you to get in touch with the reseller's customer support and send an RMA request as it's possible that this particular HDD is somehow faulty. You could also check the warranty status of your WD Blue here and contact our Customer Support, if we cover the warranty.

Good luck & keep me posted. :)
