As of now almost all websites excluding Google, Amazon, Apple, Yahoo and a few others don't work on any of my computers.

Current troubleshooting steps already taken:

1) Tested multiple computers (both windows and Macs) and multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE)
2) Connected directly to the modem without a router and still have the same issue.
3) I can successfully ping all websites. I used www.cnn.com as an example. I get a proper response from 151.101.128.73 . Using the IP address in the browser doesn't work either.
4) Called ISP (comcast) they claim that it is my issue and not an issue on their end.
5) I can successfully connect directly to the modem config panel where it shows that everything should be correct.
6) This issue seems to have started after I connected to a VPN on a windows Desktop but troubleshooting was done from a macbook pro, so their may or may not be a connection.
6) I have restarted the modem multiple times, the internet usually works for about 30 seconds after rebooting before this issue reoccurs each time.
7) Local DNS is set to 8.8.8.8 however I cannot change the modem DNS from Comcasts 75.75.75.75
8) Nothing else has changed, the internet worked previously without flaw for a year, no new modems or routers were added or removed, no new devices etc.
9) I tried disabling IPV6 on my mac but there is no "off" option for some reason, the options are "Automatic", "Manual" or "link to local" neither of which solve the issue. (Update) Was able to add the off option via terminal command "networksetup -setv6off Wi-Fi" to no avail.

if only major websites show up on your browser then it must be something with your service provider , that usually happens when they limit your service , like when you've recently purchased your service , when your outta your monthly given traffic or when they are suspending your service for a reason .

you should be able to change the Comcast router DNS address, on the side of the box you have your address for router with WIFI password and another number that is your router password, with it you can made the dns address changes..

once you have done so change it to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. and then save then reboot router and all devices.,
I have had that issue with Comcast and since I made the change over for my DNS to goggle dns server, problem where all gone.

Thank you. However as noted in step 7, while I'm able to log into the modem itself, it does not provide any editable fields. I should also note that all of my computers work properly when connected to my tethered phone which is what I'm currently using for this.

Thank you Jimmy,

I have had the same service for over a year without issue until now, I did upgrade my service recently to a faster speed, however that was AFTER this issue started occurring.

I'm waiting to hear back from a Comcast manager who is supposed to call me back. AS of last night however, the rep unequivocally stated that the issue is on my end and has nothing to do with them.
