So my girlfriend started having some issues with her computer recently. First the cpu fan was making a lot of noise, then the pc started to shut off on it's own. She realized that the CPU was running really hot, and removed the heat sink and saw that the thermopaste was burned off. She replaced the thermopaste and it seemed that the cpu was running better, but the pc is still shutting off on it's own.

Me and my girlfriend regularly skype call with video on our phones, but whenever her pc shuts off on it's own, our skype call dies as well.

When my girlfriend had purposly shut off her computer, her usb ports were still functional.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there anything we can do?

It is shutting off on it's own, the cpu for some reason sometimes has issues using it's fan, but other times the fan is working completely fine, yet the heatsink is burning hot. When she was meassuring it, it was around 80C, and right now it's around 30C.
