Hello guys!
So a couple of days ago I updated my Acer E1-572G's BIOS to latest version 2.17 using the official utility "InsydeFlash". Since then i've noticed some problems like the laptop won't go to sleep with the Fn+F4 keys and most of the time when I put it to sleep or shut it down it just freezes then I would have to remove battery and reconnect it to make it work.
I've some older versions of BIOS from the officical Acer website but the have the same software InsydeFlash and it won't let me downgrade to a previous version, it shows this error:

"BIOS version compare error"

Now i've tried a solution that worked for many which says to extract .exe file of the downloaded BIOS and edit the platform.ini file of Insydeflash to prevent it from checking the version of current BIOS.
I did set the BIOS _check_version flag to 0 which indicates that now it won't compare the versions of BIOS but I still get the error.

Please if you guys can give me any suggestion on how I can downgrade my BIOS it would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

Laptop details:
Acer E1-572G
8 GB RAM (upgraded from 4)
AMD R7 M265
BIOS version 2.17

some manufacturers like Compaq used to be like that once you upgraded bios, you could not flash backwards, it is possible acer works that way as well even without testing compare, it knows what version your trying to install and see earlier version and simply refuses. maybe there is a "force" command you could use. ? and I found this article.. maybe this will help you

same as you mentioned about the 0 instead of the 1 but he said to run the program as administrator, did you do that as well ?

Thanks for your quick response!
I did ran it as administrator aswell but that didn't work either :/
I don't know it seems logical to disable the bios checker in the ini file to prevent that but even that doesn't do anything I still get the same error ;(
