Hello Tomshardware!

I am looking to upgrade my GPU on my current PC and am having a hard time trying to figure out the best option.

I know my rig is old now but I don't have the money to upgrade to 1150/2011

My current build is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Asus P5Q-E
8GB Ram
GT 520 2GB
corsair tx 650 v2 PSU

i want to play on games at 1920x1080 resolution. Anyone who can help me choice the best option without bottlenecking?

No videocard is going to give you 60fps at 1080p and high settings on all games you can play. That said, games that don't demand much from the CPU will easily hit 60fps at that resolution and setting if you have a videocard that can handle it. This is my way of saying an RX 460 2gb or GTX 1050 is the most I would put in that computer. If you can get a GTX 750 Ti at a substantially lower price than those two, that would also be a good choice.

Any modern gpu is likely going to bottleneck to some degree with that cpu, its like 8 years old. I'm sure it will run some games fine, but in cpu heavy titles that cpu is going to hold back any modern somewhat powerful gpu. What would be your budget?
