It seams like a common problem with this mouse. I quote this from an amazon review: "I bought this mouse as a present for my boyfriend in September 2012. It is now April 9th, and it does not work anymore. While he had it, it was beautiful and worked very well. The problem is that today he tried to use it, and the left and right mouse buttons will not work."

Yes, well that was unfortunate. On the good side, you can now get a newer, better mouse (not that mice have changed that much over the past three years).
