I want to upgrade my laptop's ram memory from 8Gb to above it. I already upgrade my processor unit from i3 sandy bridge to i5 sandy bridge. From description of i5, it has capacity to have memory installed until 16Gb (each slot 8Gb). The question is which one determine the maximum memory could be installed, the processor unit or the motherboard or something else? Thank you.
