SO i just finished building a computer, i have asus gtx 1060 . I have a Acer 1600x900 60hz monitor( i know it sucks ;) ) I noticed every time i play left 4 dead 2 , i exit the game and i get a black screen. the only way to solve this blackscreen is to manually start my computer. I looked on a few forums and there were people with the SAME issue! they said to change you refresh rate , to your native rate, it will fix it. I check my refresh rate, and it was at 59Hz.... ooookkk i said to myself. I switched to 60hz and my resolution look big and didn't fit on my screen. I started up left for dead 2 , everything looked normal, i exited the game to see if it would exit without that black screen of death. Surely, enough it worked, it exited perfectly, but my resolution was large and looked terrible. If i switch it back to 59Hz, it looks great! Another note, I never upddated my BIOS after building my new computer because everything worked so well, i didnt want to mess it up...Even though Ive heard this MAYBE a windows 10 problem, could it be an outaed BIOS messing my resolution up? or maybe graphics card? any help is greatly appreciated.

What the heck is going on?!

I also have a problem with a game called insurgency, when i enter the game, the resolution looks huge and half the screen ddoesnt fit on my monitor. I asure you all the in game resolutions , are set to the native 1600x 900. maybe a bad nvidia driver? I do have 2 hard drives. one ssd and one hdd.- ssd is boot drive with arma 3 on it and hdd has my other games that sem to be affected by resolution issues.

THE PLOT THICKENS.... SO, i decided to take a screen shot of my desktop on both 59Hz and 60Hz, to show you the difference of resolutions at those refresh rates. Ive attached the screen shots of time. At the time of taking the 60hz screen shot the resolution looked way too big and horrible, and the 59hz looked normal. Notice the screen shots looks the exact same. I swear the 60hz did not look ANYTHING liek the 59hz, 59 hz looks good , my native refresh rate of 60hz, looks TERRRIBLE ....

u think this problem is my monitor? Its an older monitor ( Acer) , I'm at work so i cant check the model type. Left for dead stalls on a black screen when i try to exit, it starts up fine though and resolution is normal. Insurgency starts up with a large resolution and half of the start menu is off the right side of the monitor. Contagion has the same problem as Insurgency, resolution is too big BUT I managed to put Contagion on "Fullscreen Window Borderless" and it made the resolution normal. ArMA 3 works perfect ( except I'm having some memory issues sometimes, but that's a different story completely).

Bad Nvidia Drivers? Bad Monitor ( too old) ? wrong DVI cable? im at a loss here
