i am building a budget video editing desktop but at the same time with the best air cooling system performance. im not going to over clock because i am not a gamer.

noctua nh-d15 is my choice or the hyper evo 212x.

this is the posibble parts:

Video card: it depends to the budget. maybe 1050 ti or 1060
MOBO Gigabyte GA-Z170M-D3H (mAtx)
PROC INTEL i7 6700K
RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB DDR4 2400 (2x8gb)=16gb
CASE thelmaltake v21
SSD Samsung 850 Evo 250GB ssd
CPU COOLER Noctua NH-D15 Cpu Cooler or the hyper evo 212x
140mm (5pcs) Corsair AF140 RED LED Quiet Edition 140mm Fan
120mm (2pcs) Corsair AF120 RED LED Quiet Edition 120mm Fan
80mm (1pc) generic (optional)

i am going to put the glass side panel a the left side where i can the video card and 2 pcs 140mm fans at the top panel which the air is intake and the other panel at the right side which exhaust having 2 pcs 140mm fans. and 200mm fan at the front which intake and the other 140mm at the back which exhaust. and additional 2pcs 120mm at the bottom which is intake.

pls help me decide if the notua nh-d15 fits to my case.

Since graphic card air cooler will be your center of attraction, I'd go for LEPA AquaChanger LPWAC240, It's cheaper than DH15 at amazon.com. This radiator will also serve as warm air exhaust so ideally you'll have 200 mm intake + two 120 mm top intake = cooling graphic card, two side 120 mm exhaust (you can turn this as intake and turn two top 120 mm as exhaust if front 200 mm fan at 100% RPM) + 240 radiator fan (top)

Noctua NH D15
I've sold NH D15, the next day he came back and told me DH15 doesn't fit asus z87m plus, after bargaining, I agree to buy back and sold him gigabyte z87x ud3h. Looks like DH15 require one PCIe slot closest to CPU socket, so Gigabyte Z170M D3H isn't compatible.

  • ■165mm NH D15 + 25mm top fan = 185mm V21 CPU cooler height limitation, maybe slim 15mm fan should fit such as thermaltake luna for top fan above CPU.
    ■I forget where I read, I remember fractal design ventury HF12 won the suck competition against higher RPM model but lost the blow competition against same RPM fans.

what is the best cpu air cooler do you thinks is the best for my build?

case compatibility for cpu coolers:

cpu cooler hieght 185mm/ VGA length 350mm/psu length limitations 200mm
