Hey guyz,

I just got my new gpu Asus Strix RX 480 8GB.
I am checking it with stress tests and some gaming from last 2 days
The idle temps are from 34c to 44c, Furmark stress test for 5 mins 75c, and i just close the Far Cry 4, with HWmonitor on, the max temp showing was 81c, so i am curious that

ARE THESE TEMPS NORMAL

In most reviews of same card, the max temp was 68c, so m a bit confused,

Other specs are

Pro: i5 3570
Mobo: Asus P8H61 mle r2.0
RAM: 8gb @1.6ghz Kingston
PSU: Antec TP650w

Thanks :)

Well, GPU's typically run hotter than CPU's, and 81 degrees isn't going to cause any damage or problems, but it is pretty high.

Are the fans spinning very quickly/loudly during games?

Why is the temperature in Far Cry higher than in FurMark? That's strange.

What's your case cooling situation like?

I can recommend taking the cooler off the card and applying new thermal paste, usually that can reduce temperatures by a few degrees. I just did it with my laptop and its much quieter than it used to be.

FAN SPINNING
I didn't notice this, cause i am using headphones during gaming

Well i run FurMark for just 5 mins and game for more than one hour :)

I have just one chassis fan at back for exhaust, and my side panel is also open for more air to come in

And i am not gonna open my GPU, coz it is brand new
