Hi, i have roughly £800 to £1000 to spend on a computer. I have already had my go at picking the parts and its totalled to about £900. I am looking for an unbiased list or parts hence why i havent posted my list.

The computer requires everything, i have no parts lying around in my house to put in it so everything has to be bought.

I do plan to overclock a little bit for educational purposes and id prefer to stick with a fan rather than a water cooler

Thanks

It's possible. For keyboard, just get a cheap logitech one or something, you don't need a "gaming" keyboard that is going to eat away budget from the rest of your build.

I assume this PC is meant for gaming?

I would recommend:

-i5 6600k
-cheap but good air cooler like the CoolerMaster Hyper 212
-a motherboard with decent power phases for overclocking
-16GB DDR4 RAM (doesn't really matter what company)
-256GB SSD for C drive + a 1 or 2 TB hard drive for storage
-a PSU that is known to be reliable, you'll probably want 500W or more. Modular/semi-modular is nice if you can afford it.
-whatever case you like, fits your budget, and has decent reviews. (Don't forget some cable ties for cable management if you don't have any lying around)
-then basically the most powerful graphics card you can afford, probably the GTX1060 or 1070?

Go ahead and post your list of the components you've chosen so far.

With that budget, do you also need to buy a monitor/peripherals? What about an OS?

The list wasnt complete and i made the mistake of deleting brower cookies so the pcpartpicker list disappeared. It was the i5-6600k and evga gtx 1060 6gb superclocked version. Then 120gb of ssd and 1tb of hdd. Ive completely forgot which motherboard and fan but i dont think i included a case or keyboard which i will need
