How does the GTX 1050 Ti perform at High/Max settings?

I'm replacing my malfunctioning GTX 660 with an inexpensive card to hold me over to I built a new rig later this year with a 1070 or 1080. My 660 was able to run nearly all of my games at max settings but chugged horribly with newer games such as DOOM and Witcher 3, which I had to run at medium or low settings.

I'm not a purist as far as getting the absolute best out of my games (that'd kill my streaming/recording since I do so at 1080/720 with 60FPS), but I do like a smooth framerate with great detail. Would a 1050 Ti perform at High/Max settings well with 2015-2016 titles?

Core i7 3770
ASRock mobo (model unknown, plan to replace due to a lack of PCI expansion slots)
16GB RAM
128 SSD
2.5TB HDD

Witcher 3 is v demanding, and you'd be lucky to get 60fps+ ultra with that (I get just over that with a 1070, maybe 80fps, at 1080p but that's with hairworks lol).

You should be ok and it'll be a good little card for now I'd say :)

Thats good news, I think thats as hard as I need to go as far as gaming performance. Aside from DOOM and Witcher 3, Im mostly in WoW and CS:GO which are not very demanding.

the card is roughly the same as a gtx 960. so what would you expect from such a card? entry level 1080p so on less demanding games you can turn up the settings, but on newer AAA games, you'll been dialing them down at 1080p to maintain higher fps if that's your need. a 6gb 1060 would be a better bet for that use.

Actually on a mixture of High ultra and some settings like AA turned off you can comfortably get 60fps in most AAA titles. the card is a tad bit faster than a 960. I have my Strix 1050ti overclocked to 1936mhz core and 8508mhz on the memory stable no voltage added (mine has a 6pin pcie connection too) and most AAA titles i play with the exception of deus ex mankind divided and ghost recon wildlands, i have no problem reaching a constant 60fps on a mixture of ultra. high and medium settings at 1080p. The 1050ti actually packs some serious punch for its specs. but do remember that AA is a no go for the 1050ti. some games you can use and it will destroy but for most AAA titles it would be better to turn down AA or even turn it off.
