Hi I've just been given a 760 and want to know if I need to upgrade my CPU to play the latest games. I don't care if I have to play them on low I just want to be able to play them for now til I can upgrade! Thanks in advance!

specs: AMD Phenom II X4 925 / 8 GB RAM / Asrock MB / 750 watt PSU / 1 TB HDD

games to play: BF1, dark souls 3, overwatch (possibly).

BF1 (minimum req): AMD FX-6350 (i5 6600K) / 8 GB RAM / HD 7850 2GB or GTX 660 2GB

Dark Souls III (minimum req): AMD FX 8150 or (i7 2600) / 8 GB RAM / HD 7850 or GTX 750

My "guess" is that you can either play BF1 on 720p (ultra) @ 30-40 FPS or 1080p (low) @ 60 FPS; both on a small map (24 player).
I'm very confident that you can play BF1, Dark Souls III, and Overwatch (obviously). You just won't be able to play them with the visual detail and experience that was intended by the developer. But it should still be fun as hell.

Ideal future upgrade for maxed out settings would be i5-7600k (Intel kaby...
Yes you can play them. There's nothing about a Phenom II X4 or a GTX 760 that will stop you from playing new games. Most games should actually run fairly well too. One thing you didn't mention was system memory, there are games that do run better if you have more than 4gb system ram. So if you're using 4gb system ram and run a game like GTA V, you might see some stuttering due to memory issues. I'm also assuming you have the power supply that can handle it, these components you have can be power hungry.

I have 8gb of ram and a 750w power supply and I'll have to double check the mb when I get home but I know it's an as-rock and its only am3 and only goes up to 95w. I'm planning on playing mainly bf1 and dark souls 3 and maybe overwatch. Thanks for your answers so far

Edit: I also have a 1tb hdd
