Hello all,

I am looking to do a budget build for my son who is learning 3-D Graphics design and wants a good rendering build. This is the build I am considering as I can acquire the parts and build it for around $1,000. Any thoughts?

CPU AND BOARD: i7-6700k on an Asus Z170-A
GPUs: Two AMD RX 470
STORAGE: 240GB A-Data SSD and 1 x Hitachi Deskstar 2TB
MEMORY: 16GB (8GB x 2) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz
PSU: Corsair TX750 Enthusiast Series
OPTICAL DRIVE: LG WH16NS40 Blu-Ray
CPU COOLER: Hyper 212 Evo

Well for 3-D modeling, you may want to look in the nvidia quadro series, but those can be a pretty penny. Running cross fire with the 470s, shouldn't be too bad. I would probably go with a GTX 1070 (about $400) instead though. What type of motherboard do you have? A Z170 is probably your best bet. Everything looks fine to me.

Motherboard is Asus Z170-A.

Thanks for your input. The reason I was going to use the AMD RX470s crossfired was so that I could start with one and add the second later. If the GTX 1070 gives better overall performance though. I could wait another week and spring for it.
