Hello, I recently upgraded my pc and its having alot of performance issues (mainly fps) I was getting better performance in games before I upgraded.
specs:
-I7 6700k
-Gtx 1070 founders edition
-8gb of ddr4 ram
-asus z170-p motherboard
-windows 10 64 bit
- psu is the evga supernova 750 b1
When i recently upgraded I changed my cpu, motherboard and ram. Thanks in advance

Out of curiosity, why can't you put it back together?

If you can't you, you could attempt the live chat functionality within W10 and hope some nice MS rep will let you transfer it over, but I wouldn't count on it.
You may well have to buy another copy of Windows.

Did you clean install your OS when you upgraded? Or just move the HDD/SSD over?

Do you have the latest drivers?

How do your CPU/GPU temps look?

"Some corsair psu 850watts" isnt really enough info. Corsair has some good & some 'meh' PSUs. 850W should be more than sufficient, but quality matters (unlikely to be impacting your FPS, more of an FYI)

-I did not clean install my os when I upgraded, I got the free windows 10 upgrade so im not even sure if that's possible
-the temps seem well within what they should be, I forgot to mention that I have a cooler master 212 evo on my cpu
-the psu is the evga supernova 750 b1 seems like I was way off on that sorry
-and yes I have the latest drivers

Ok, the SuperNOVA B1 is a little older, but solid enough.

I would expect the issue is the fact you're running an old W10 install that isn't truly configured for your current setup. I'd clean install that.

It's worth noting, you can transfer W10 now, provided you link it to a MS account - it needs to be done on your old setup though:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

On your original setup, you need build 1607+ and a genine, activated W10. Link it to your MS account. Then put together the new setup, clean install the OS, sign in with your MS account & if it doesn't auto-activate, use the troubleshooter.

I'd bet that'll solve your problems. You likely have no-end of driver conflicts going on there with an upgraded W10 and then a new motherboard/.CPU etc on top of it all.

So unfortunately I am not able to put together my original setup again, do you have any other ideas or will I just have to buy windows 10? :/
