Hey there, first time posting on one of these forums I have never had an issue with general computers as I would get a new one or guess what is causing the issue and try fix it myself but I think it is better to post the issue here to people more tech savvy than myself.

Now I am not too good with computers myself but I know a little here and there, when this issue occurred I thought it was the processor or RAM struggling with handling my games, google chrome and spotify I usually leave open. I play a fair bit of World of Warcraft and that takes ages to load in now and this has been happening for a month or too. The loading screens where not that bad and my general PC was fine as I could tab out and use chrome as usual but in the past 2 weeks I have been having problems with chrome, World of Warcraft and Spotify freezing up occasionally and even my PC freezes up on times. I have posted my specs down below, if you need more than this then please tell me and I can provide them all. My computer is a custom made one I built myself so not everything was new, the processor and GFX card were second hand cheap stuff as I did not have much money to buy a computer. I would just like to know if it is worth upgrading parts of the computer as I am willing to do because at the moment it is just really slow. Also sorry for the long post, I have mentioned everything for now.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz

Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

RAM 8.0 GB

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

500GB Hard Drive

Solution
Check your temps using hwmonitor, for starters. What is the make/model, of your power supply? If your windows install is quite old, it may be a good idea to backup anything you want to keep, and do a fresh install.
