Is it worth upgrading from a amd a8-6600k to a amd fx-8350?

Will it perform a bit better? Sure.

Will it perform well enough to justify the +$150-$170 price tag of the 8350? No.

not worth it if you ask me. unless you're getting a sweet deal on it. either way it's not going to be a hair raising increase in performance

wait for zen and see if it will be backwards compatible with a firmware update for your existing motherboard - they will be a significant performance increase and will likely decrease the price point for existing AMD CPUs. I have an 8150 in my secondary rig - it is running with a 770 doesn't provide the same consistent game experience as my i5-6500 and 950.

Your call, but I wouldn't go for the 8350 or 8370 unless that was the top of your budget

@game junky, Zen is using an entirely different socket (AM4), it's not an FM2/+ AM3/+ situation where there's extra pins & some backwards compatibility. It's a totally new socket.

Aside from the fact he would need a new motherboard anyway to go from an A8 to an FX, they are FM2 vs AM3. There is no firmware upgrades anywhere.

Don't waste the money.
