Hi,

Recently my PC has been making a strange noise (like a scratching sound, it's hard to describe) I believe it is coming from the power supply unit. Oddly enough when using the internet to download such as a steam game, the sound will become louder and more obvious. I can't understand how this would impact the PSU so I also have suspicions on my motherboard. I am running a Corsair VS650. Could it be the low quality of the PSU and if so, should I be worrying about (what damage can it do)

Specs -
Case: Corsair Spec 01
Motherboard: GA-H170-HD3
CPU: i5 6600k
PSU: Corsair VS650

Thanks for the help!

Solution
1| Breadboard the system.
2| Locate the noise from your components.
3| I'm assuming it's PSU since the unit is not the best built...or that its the fan within the PSU's housing that is giving out.

If you're under warranty period, might want to make a video/recording to serve as proof/evidence to the seller/Corsair for the RMA(provided the PSU is the culprit).

Are you sure you own an H170 board with an i5-6600K? That's not good.
