I have a fx 8300 and asus 970 pro gaming/aura

I want to monitor the temps, HWinfo 64 is showing with a benchmark with prime 95 small fft, (i chosed cpu pakage) the same cpu temps as aida64 extreme zensors where showing

Hwinfo64 use to show the same temps as aux is in aida64 extreme, almost 20 c higher, ai suite 3 shows the same temps as aida64 extreme aux and that is 61 doing prime 95 small fft

Amd overdrive is surpose to show what temps are before the cpu reaches it thermal threshold,if temps are 29c it's roughly 29c before it shot's down

Amd overdrive shoved 1.1875 voltage/vid but cpu-z 1.332volt

I do not at all know what to use to monitor temps on my fx 8300 i use to use core temps with my intel cpu (often i had problem starting core temps, altough it always started when i got it to start and enabled it to aut start when i turn my pc on), it showed much higher temps on my fx 8300 so i started using HWinfo64

HWfinfo64 use to show same temps as ai suite3 so i though it was showing the right temps

But here someone say only to use amd overdrive to monitor temps, it showed temps before threshold so i used the cpu package in HWinfor64 to be shown in my taskbar since it matches amd overdrive reddit

Atm moment HWinfo64 + amd overdrive if i add the numbers, it's roughly 71c which should be t case and at 71 the core temp should be about 61c

It's just under prime 95 small fft temps with amd overdrive and HWinfo64 in imho themps are not that low, that means if it's true, i should without any problems be able to reach 4.5ghz, atm im running 4.2 ghz and use a Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler

What is it with the voltage in amd overdrive 1.1875 volt

Cpu-z and HWinfor 64(+3.3v) is showing the same core voltage 1.56-1.368 volt

How do i monitor temps when i benchmark my cpu?

Im sooo lost trying to monitor cpu temps so i can stay under the temps where it throttles/shot's down (i think it's 71c but according to amd i should keep it at no higher than 61c,mabye 62c but that's it)

First do not assume you should be able to hit any particular clock speed. You might hit a solid wall sooner or further than you think. Just because you are at 4.2ghz now doesn't mean that your CPU might not become unstable at 4.3ghz. If that was how overclocking worked we would all just look at our lowest voltage at stock and use a calculator to calculate the max overclock of the CPU.

On the other side of the coin that doesn't mean 4.5ghz is going to be your maximum either. The only way to know is by actually overclocking it!

As for temp monitoring... Speedfan, HWmonitor, RealTemp, Speccy, etc.

There are many more but those are some of the main ones that people use. I personally use Speedfan because I am able to program and get it to do exactly what I want and only what I want.

Which Prime 95 are you using. Different Prime 95 builds do very different things.

Some put more stress on your CPU than even video encoding possibly could.

Some do slightly less tasking than AIDA 64.

28.9 is a slightly better version but will not do much to decrease the temps you are seeing.

Some people stay away from Prime95 for this very reason.. It pushes your temps far higher than anything else you will encounter besides maybe LinX.

I never get 71c, max you should get is 61 or 62c

aida64 is showing 36c for all core (of course, since theres only one sensor for the cpu temps on a amd fx cpu), ai suite 3 is showing 50c, i have set core temp to that or else it would have ben lower, amd overdrive 34c (34 for before it shots down, thermal threshold)

I can't oc my fx 8300 since i don't knopw the temps and don't want to have red numbers in ai suite 3 which is set to 65c that i do reach at max rpm at 4.3ghz which is a low speed for an amd fx cpu that should be able to reach 4.4 or 4.5ghz and 1.4 volt or higher should not be a problem for an fx cpu unless it makes the temps insanely high

No CPU "should" over clock to any certain speed.

Some can and some can't. You must be new to over clocking if you think that any certain CPU model can reach a certain clock.

If every fx 8300 could reach 4.3ghz then why wouldnt they sell them at 4.3ghz stock?

Max temp is 70C according to AMD. 1.5v max voltage.

Why set the thermal threshold to 34C? That doesn't make much sense.

34c? amd overdrive shows temps before thermal threahod if it say, lets say 34c, ist 34c before it shout's down before to high temps

My temps with core temps is adjusted to ai suite 3 but as i might already have writen amd overdrive and HWinfo64 temps added together is't 70-71c
