I have this motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme3/

Can I put 2133 ram in it with no fuss and a bunch of problems or should I use 1866. Fx8320 cpu

Solution
No, you are just curious
thing is, if you use 2133 then it will downgrade to 1833. in this case 2133 ram stick wont work at its full potential and that might cause performance issue (not sure/can't say how but the difference will not be noticeable). if you know overclocking then you can use 2133 RAM after changing some bios settings. AND YES YOU CAN USE 2100 RAM BUT AFTER OVERCLOCKING.
but if you don't know
in this case, with 1833 you don't need to change any settings just plug n play and this will work with its full potential without having any performance issue
and about your juice, assume you have big orange but after removing its skin what you have is lemon size pulp

IMO, use 1866 ram sticks. If you know overclocking memory then you can overclock it to 2100 max frequency.
and if you use 2133 your mobo will downgrade it to 2100 or 1866(not sure)..so 1866 will be fine, you wont notice much difference between 2100 and 1866

So you're telling me of I put in 2133 my MB will AUTOMATICALLY take the speed down to 2100 or 1866 and I don't have to do a thing?

So if I can get 2133 for the same price as 1866, should I?

Yes, If only you are going to upgrade soon, say coming few months. and here upgrade means you are gonna get better than your current system, that supports 2100+ Stick..so at that time you don't need to buy RAM again..otherwise go with 1833

I'm sure this is getting annoying but I don't see why 1866 would be better than 2133 if I can automatically get a little more juice out of the 2133. I'd like to be able to understand.
