Sounds stuttering/buzzing occasionally, USB-devices lagging

I'm wondering why my sounds stutter/buzz and my USB devices (mouse) lag for a brief moment (for 1 second or so) sometimes, when I open my web browser, a program or download a file. Or start a game.
Sometimes it doesn't occurr for a long time. For example now, that I've been surfing on the forum, looking for an answer. But I know that if I now open a Twitch-stream for example, it will do it most certainly. (Only when opening or starting something, it seems. Almost never just during something)

Seems to have something to do with the mobo and the processor or memory usage? Hell, I don't know. :D

-I have the latest drivers and BIOS update.
-Windows memory test says nothing concerning. (Mayber I should do some stress tests?)
-This is occurring with Windows 7 and Windows 10.

My setup:

-ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming
-Intel Skylake i5-6600K
-Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) HyperX Fury DDR4 2666 MHz
-Palit GTX 670 Jetstream

I have not overclocked anything yet.

Please, halp! And thank you in advance for your assistance. :)

Hi there Magnus-S,

If this happens under different Win versions, then most probably, this is hardware related.
Several things you can do:
- Yeah, you can do some stress tests.
- Downclock your system if it is overclocked.
- Test your HDD with a tool that can provide SMART data. If there's something wrong with it, just back the data up.

Let me know how this goes,

Hi!
Sorry I've taken so long to reply. The issue started occurring so rarely, I almost forgot about it.
However, now, that I bought a new graphics card (ASUS Strix 1060 OC), it has gone ablosutely bananas again.

First, my monitor and keyboard wouldn't get recognized and they wouldn't turn on when booting. I just restart when this happens, and everything works for some time.
While playing Overwatch, the audio bug occurs very, very frequently. (reminds me of someone turning on a chainsaw) :na: When Alt+Tabing to Windows, the audio bug turns on permanently and the mouse cursor drags behind very slowly, until I raise OW back up again. OW also has a low FPS and has huge frame drops.
Rainbow Six: Siege also recognized my display as a 4k monitor now, even though it's a 1k. Holy balls. :D

I'm pretty sure that a bad mobo is causing all this. Gonna return it and get a new one.
I'll let you know how things turn out.

Hi!

So I've gone through hell with this problem. I don't think it's the PSU, and I JUST bought a new mobo (ASUS Z270-F). The issue persists, exept, when I use a different PCIe-slot for my GTX1060...

When I use PCIe 3.0 x16 -slot, the problem pops up again INSTANTLY after starting the computer.
So far, using the PCIe 3.0 x8 (the lower one), no problem.

I am lost. :D On the other hand, I am satisfied that I found a "working" solution, finally, but this still bugs me out.
The only problem with this is, that my PC now occasionally thinks I have two monitors (?) and creates a virtual monitor, where I sometimes lose my cursor to..

So it's not the mobo.. Could it be the processor?
Or the GPU? Some kind of a compatibility problem?

HELP! :<

Edit: Now that I've been using the PCIex8-slot for my GPU, I've been having trouble waking my PC from sleep mode. It sometimes doesn't light up the screen and peripheral devices at all, if I don't kill it and start up again. This might occur even after booting up.
"Windows loading" -screen does show up before this for a short moment though.
