making cat6 cable

Hello, i recently bought 100 meters with cat6 cable and a lot of rj45 plugs, i do have a crimp tool. But my problem is fitting the right cat6 standard in the rj45 plug without the cables changing directions. This is seriously driving me nuts... Anyone has any tips?

Are you having trouble getting them wires to seat properly? Do you have the cat6 plugs with the inserts?

My main issue is when i am trying to fit the rj45 plug on the cable, the cables split, and lets say the green cable changes spot from 3th right to 4th right. These are the rj45 plugs i have.

They are just a pain in the butt. Takes patients and practice. Just keep at it. You will need a tester. Something like this

Those are Cat5 RJ 45's, they will still work so long as you are not using Cat6A.

As someone new to doing this (about a month ago), get them flattened out between your fingers first and then carefully slide them into the plug, seemed to work for me.

I generally start with the wires being long making it easier to organize the colors. Then I flatten them out and cut the down to fit the jack. Good luck!

This is a rather fiddly job.
Practice, practice, practice.

Just start with a very few small lengths of cable, just to get the feel of it. 1/2 meter or so

jesus, now i am having trouble with some of the cables slighting backwards inside the cable. When i press hard the orange and orange/white just slides back inside the cable..........

Are your ends a single piece or are there two pieces? If you have normal RJ45s (single piece) you have made your life a bit harder, the correct ends have an insert.

literally loosing my mind now, when i get the cables in the right order, some of the cables starts to slide back inside the cable. I am pushing as hard as i can, but they do not come far enough....

seems like the isolation on my cat6 cable is very thick and hard. And when i try and squeeze the cable into the rj45 connector some of the cables dont reach the far end, they only gets squeezed back inside the cable.

Guys around here don't like it, but I keep saying buy pre-built patch cables and save yourself the hassle. Monoprice.com, as low as a buck a cable.

But enough pontificating, you got 100 meter roll, are you running this through walls? if so, I hope it's solid core (easier to crimp) and not stranded (even harder to crimp). Because in-walls, I would think you want to punch them down?
