Hi I just bought an acer aspire e5 575g 55kk laptop and it has a 1tb hdd but I want to put a samsung 850 evo m.2 500gb ssd in it as well. How do I change the ssd to make it the boot drive (to make the laptop boot up fast and load applications fast) and make the 1tb the backup hdd?

Solution
You might have to use a program like macrium reflect along with fiddling with windows partition manager. After that go into the bios and change boot order and see if it works.

the bios will automatically detect which drive has the OS installed on it. I assume that you will wipe the OS off the HDD once you load it on the SSD. That said, if it doesnt autodetect the boot drive, go into the bios and manually select the boot order.

Any programs you have, should also be installed on the SSD.
