Hey guys, if I was to upgrade my motherboard would I need to buy a new copy of Windows 10? I have an ISO of it, would that work? Thanks.

You will still need a key. However, with Windows 10, I hear that it is tied with the account. Is it OEM or a retail copy? If retail, you should be OK. With an OEM key, it could be tricky because they are usually tied to the motherboard (which is why they are usually cheaper).

I have a pre-built PC with a key that I used to produce the ISO. Would that work?

I have a 520W I bought when I got my GPU (which uses 300W). Should that work?

If you upgraded it, then you should be good.

First, make sure your copy of win 10 is activated before you do the hardware change. Then, be sure that the win 10 license is tied to your microsoft account (https://www.onmsft.com/news/how-to-associate-your-windows-10-license-with-a-microsoft-account). After you've changed out your hardware and installed a fresh copy of win 10 from your iso, you should be able to activate win 10 using your microsoft account.

I won't be getting the board for a few weeks. My apologies.
