Hello there,
I am having an issue connecting my samsung smart tv with my wifi router using using wired network.
Modem: Huawei E5172
Wifi router: TL-WR702N
TV: Samsung UE40F5300

Setup: Modem -> Wifi Bridge mode -> (Wired) -> TV

TV is connecting to the router, but not to the network.
Laptop using wired network or wifi connects to network fine.
Router is in bridge mode and dhcp is on. Modem has dhcp turned on as well.

Is your Modem being used as just a modem or as a modem and router?

If just a modem then dudio is right that you should nto be using the Wireless Bridge Mode.

You should not have DHCP on for both.

Have you gone into TV configuration and made sure it was using the wired ethernet port? Some TVs dont just connect because you plugged in the cable.

It was the only mode in which the tv did connect to the router.
In all other modes the tv failed to connect to router.

My modem is just as modem.
I know I should not use it, but the tv only sees the router if I use bridge mode.
It automatically detects if using ethernet port.

Will try some of the solutions in the post. Such as setting dns to 8.8.8.8 and looking for updates.

Yes, it has internet.
But my tv cant connect to it. All other devices can.

Well yes of course it recognizes that the router is plugged into a working ethernet port (the one on your router)
In bridge mode the wifi router expects to receive wifi from a different source (your modem in this case)
If your modem is in modem only mode (thus not putting out wifi) then there is no wifi connection between the bridged router and your modem router to have a connection.

1) Modem/router 2) <-(wifi)-> 3) Bridged Router 4) <-(Ethernet)-> 5) TV.
If you dont have 2 then you have no internet on TV.

So if you dissconnect wifi from the laptop, and ONLY connect it via wired ethernet coming from the bridged wifi router it has internet? Your laptop has a wifi connection from the modem/router and thus if you plug it into the bridged router with the wifi still on it is going to still show having an internet connection, you have to turn wifi off on the laptop to be able to test.

My mistake, it is in modem/router mode. That's why its so odd that tv can't connect to network.
Sorry!

I am using modem/router . I changed wifi status to forget this network so I can't auto connect to it.

So by "forgetting" the wifi network being broadcasted by the modem/router, can you connect the laptop via ethernet to the bridged router and have internet?

I can, and it works fine!

So everything works fine, except when you use the exact same cable to plug it into the TV from the bridged router.

Then the problem is the TV.
Check configuratios, make sure the ethernet port is turned on, make sure you are not set to static IP.
If your modem/router is providing DHCP then your bridged modem does not need to also provide DHCP so turn that off.

I took my modem/router to the same room where the tv is and connected it via wired network. Worked instantly.
Unfortunately I need that modem back where it was.
I also started to think it's the tv fault...

Look into configs.
As stated ditch the DHCP in the bridged router. Could be that the TV is trying to attach to a specific IP address that is conflicting with the extra DHCP in the bridged router.

Alright, will try that as soon as I can!

Ditched the DHCP.. and the tv could not connect to the router.
