I recently got my hands on a brand new rx 470 from msi but my power supply does not have any pcie cables to plug into my gpu. My power supply is 500w which is enough to power the gpu i just dont have the 8pin pcie cable. I will only use the molex to 8 pin while i save up for a new power supply. Is this a good idea plz respond.

No.

If your PSU does not come with the connectors to support your GPU then 98% chance it cant support the power requirements.

I can print any number I want onto a sticker, doesnt mean that power supply will actually be able to handle that load.

Any half decent 500w PSU will support an 8pin PCIE connection so it must be a cheapo unit.
These cheapo units not only cant output the power they claim, but when (not if but when) they die they fry the rest of your parts as well.
The cheapest option (in this case the $30 PSU instead of the $50 PSU) is not the least expensive option ($30 PSU + $200 fried GPU + $200 fried mobo/CPU is way more money then a $50 psu)

Can you point me to the adapter link, actually I have done that with Asus R9 270 but after I check the two molex 12V and 0V, it rated 5 ampere so in theory 75 watt from PCIe slot + 120 watt from adapter will give enough power for 185 watt TDP graphic cards, however that was different sample and model, the most important thing is how long before your PSU die or the quality of your PSU.
Maybe you can give us your full system specs, and we'll take it from there.

That one is 16 AWG with two yellow wires
(12 volt * 10 amp = 120 watt) 120+75 = 195 watt, you can email asus CS and ask about your 270 power consumption.
