Hey everyone, 1st time building a pc here and I've gotten it to the point where I can open up the BIOS and I was able to install Windows 10 to my SSD, but I was only able to do so while my video card was taken out.

When I start the system with the video card in, the VGA LED lights up for a couple seconds, then the BOOT DEVICE LED turns on and stays on. The card is definitely getting power, as it lights up and the fans come on.

Also, when I tried to boot through the SSD that I had installed windows on without the card in, the screen turns black, for a few seconds, then returns to the BIOS screen. I'm assuming this is due to there being no video card in, but I'm not positive.

I have checked the manuals for these components, but they don't seem to have the answers I'm looking for.

Also, the components I'm working with are...

Asus z170 - A

GTX 1070

Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb

I7 - 6700k

Crucial 1TB SSD

EVGA 650W Supernova Psu

How can I get all of these working properly together and boot into windows?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind, I was an idiot and was using the DVI connection from the motherboard. Changed it to the HDMI connection from my graphics and that fixed the problems.

You're not the first to get caught out with that one and won't be the last either! Glad it's sorted.

That's a great build you've got there, by the way. Have fun!
