Hi,

I watched a video by josh from newegg (back in 2011) and he suggested on his video to set up your mobo, cpu, gpu, psu, and memory outside the case first and then jump the start switch and boot it up before installing it in the case. I understand the reason is that if you have a bad part its better to know first hand then after install.

However when i buy premium parts i dont expect to have issues and it really does not take that long to remove the items from the case once they are in there. And i feel i can do that mobo, cpu, psu, gpu and memory test almost just as quickly in the case rather than out. Plus im alittle wiery about doing any switch jumping.

So am i full of bull in my thinking or should i do the test before hand? This will be my very first build, my last order will be here on friday and then ill start building. Im so excited allready i can bearly sit and relax, i know i need to calm down or im gonna mess something up.

No need for a test. Just install everything and boot normal. Unlikely to run into any issues, but if you do, it is not hard to identify, even in the case. Have fun and follow directions for installing everything. First build is always special. :)

Bad news folks, i contacted MSI on a video issue and with some testing we moved my display cables to the board display to test that and found that im not getting any signal at all from the HDMI or DVI-D ports. So they said send it back. So now i have to rip my new build completely apart and do the RMA and ill have to go back to my old PC for about 30 days or so.

Moral of the story, always pretest, always!!

I paid good money for a good board the M5 and yet this is what happens, makes me so mad...
