which component should i upgrade for better gaming?

I have: amd fx 6300 3.5ghz six core
8gb ddr3
xfx r9 280x graphics.

I would like to know which component, if not all, would be the best to upgrade because its started getting slower over time. Recently, it has been noticeably slower when playing games. And any recommended upgrades for a decent price?

I would let make clear.

Your build, currently, its ok for some games. But at today, your CPU will holding back any newest GPU in the market. Just start thinking in overclocking the fx 6300, or start a new one with Zen or Kaby Lake in the future.

CPU is your biggest bottleneck right now.

280x is not great but any better GPU will be VERY held back by your CPU.

I would frankly wait of a couple months, then AMD Rizen (originally Zen), and 7th gen intel (Kabby Lake) will be out. Then we can make a much better decesion on what is the best direction for you to take.
