So I just made a very good build for me with an i5-6600k 3.50Ghz and I'd like to overclock it to 4.0-4.5Ghz. What will happen to it if I overclock it without a heat sink/water cooler?

Also another question:
Can GIGABYTE GA-H110M-DS2 RETAIL overclock the i5-6600k ?

Thanks a lot!

The same thing that will happen to you if you run your car without brakes. The CPU has to have a cooling solution running it under *any* circumstances. And as Intel doesn't include stock heatsink+fan on unlocked-multiplier Skylakes, you have to buy one if you even plan on turning on your PC.

it gonna run very hot and you might run into problems, theres cheap cooling solution that are WAY better than the heatsink that comes in the box. I suggest investing the 30$ if you want to overclock. For your second question, i believe you cant overclock on the h110 chipset... unfortunatly
