Hi.
I used to have 780 gtx and had it hooked with :
1. DVI - samsung SA950
2. HDMI - Philips 49PUS6561

I just purchased evga 1080 ftw hybrid
when I plug the hdmi, it wont display (AKA - Philips TV wont work)

BUT if i do extend / duplicate - it works exactly as expected.

PLUS - if I only hook the hdmi up AND THEN boot the computer, everything works - but after i put the password to enter windows 10 , the screen flashes a bit and then "no signal" on the TV

im really worried I have to deal with RMA now
but it doesnt look like it, seems a software problem..

additional info :
MB : asus rampage iv
SSD : samsung pro 850
GPU : 1080 ftw hybrid
16GB ram

i hope someone could shed light on this and help.. thanks!!

I have a hard time seeing the problem...
IT SOUNDS like your complaint is that the wrong monitor is seen as default.
Your complaint of only being able to have it work when Extended, or Duplicated is exactly as expected. What other options could there be? Only duplicate and extend.

To me, it sounds like you need to go into your display settings and select "MAKE THIS MY MAIN DISPLAY"

Either that, or you need to set up a resolution, and a refresh rate.

For each TV you are using.

It can the case of one Tv in Hz only being able to reach a maximum Hz range of 59Hz for example.
Where the TV may do 59Hz to 60Hz or above depending on what screen resolution is setup on each as a default.

OK so I tried DDU (display driver uninstaller) and did a fresh install but this happens:

1. when on regular mode (NOT SAFE MODE) the tv screen just flicker with LONG in between of black screen and "no signal"
2. when i go into safe mode- the tv shows everything (and i can adjust the resolution there up to 1080p)

@greens - the other options are "show only on monitor X" and there is 1 and 2.

@Shaun - tried reducing Hz up to 30 and still wont show a solid screen. plus tried other resolutions.

thank you 2 for trying to help would... love to hear if you've got any more ideas..

any idea?
