Random crashes after installing new GPU and CPU. Help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, I've recently run into an issue that I haven't been able to solve after near 10 hours of searching forums. I feel like I've tried just about every suggestion/solution and am very welcome to any opinions and ideas.

I recently upgraded my PC build a week or so ago and got myself a new Gigabyte Geforce Gaming GTX 1070 GPU and an AMD FX-8350 CPU. These replaced my long used AMD R270 and AMD FX-4100 respectively. It ran very well for a few days upon installing the two parts and I saw a drastic rise in FPS and general performance after I installed the drivers. However, a few days following I started getting crashes that seemed random in nature and occurred in almost any game I played as well as even when watching Youtube videos in Google Chrome. The crashes varied in nature with most of them being straight display freezes that never progressed (some continued playing the audio) as well as black screen across both monitors, even an occasional BSOD. The crashes didn't follow any pattern and I was sometimes able to play long periods without crashing and other times crashed a few times in the same session. One last thing to note was that the card originally seemed to run everything fantastically though after some of the crashes seemed to slow in performance in certain games which worried me. In all of these crashes I had to hard reset my computer as it would not continue past the crash or would never automatically reset itself. I don't overclock or anything in that area. I will post my PC and my attempted solutions/tests below.

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce Gaming GTX 1070
Processor: AMD FX-8350
Power Supply: Corsair 600w (Can't check right now, running tests on main computer)
RAM: PNY XLR8 16 GB ( 2 x 8GB) DDR3 1866Mhz
Hard Drive: Western Digital or Seagate 1TB? (Same reason, I'll update later)
Monitor: HDMI into a 32'' TV as well as a 19'' Compaq monitor via VGA

Here's some of what I've tried so far to fix this situation:
-Wiped all the display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), no change there. Thought maybe the old AMD drivers could be interfering. Also updated all drivers in general.
-Used Prime95 to run a stress test on the CPU which said everything was fine. During the stress test the CPU hit a max of 70C once and stayed around 60-65C max during gaming.
-Used Windows Event Viewer to check on the BSODs and other game crashes, however, none of the current BSODs were displayed there. Important to mention that sometimes the BSOD didn't resolve itself and I had to hard reset the computer.
-Found that my HDD was very fragmented and made a few passes at defragging it which also changed nothing.
-Put my GPU through a Furmark stress test at 1080p. Ran very smoothly and I got an average of 102FPS during the test. Didn't cause a crash. During gaming the GPU only got to near 60C and would hover around 60% usage in intense gaming.
-Am currently doing a memtest on my RAM though am doubting that's the cause.
-Other various tweaks with Nvidia and other things

I don't know where to go from here and was wondering some other things. Could my PSU possibly have damaged my GPU at some point? Could my PCI-E slot have malfunctioned? (I'm not sure, have 2 PCI-E slots though one is blue 16x and other is black 4x. It seems to run the same in both.) Is the GPU itself damaged or the CPU? Should I try updating my BIOS?

I don't have another computer to swap the parts between at the moment so I cannot test them independently like I should. I'm at the end of my rope here guys. Any help would be fantastic.

Edit: I've recently discovered that many that share my issues have had motherboard capacitor issues. The symptoms are very similar to what I'm experiencing. The drop in GPU performance could be damaged CPU by whatever also damaged mobo (could be faulty PSU, maybe now both PSU and mobo)?

Hi I am having a similar issue and I believe it is due to too much fluctuation in the voltage on the 12v rail. You can look at my thread for more info. I'd get a program like hardware info where you can check the input voltage on your gpu and cpu. My voltage dropped to around 11.2v on 12v rail which is beyond the 5% maximum.

How old is your psu? And the model information will help.

Thanks for the quick reply. I looked again and all of the labels have been removed though I am 95% sure that my PSU is in fact This:
-Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus - 600W Power Supply

Though I also doubt it matters my HDD:Western Digital Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

I had been suspecting something wrong with fluctuating voltages and read a bit on that.
My readouts for my voltages are these:
-12V: Low of 12V to high of 12.313V, averages around 12.1-12.2 ish
-5V: Low of 4.76V to high of 4.93V, averages around 4.82-4.88
Everything else seems stable except CPU VCORE which fluctuates around 0.95V to 1.3V.

I have yet to get a crash, it's been quite varied when it chooses to do so. Under load it seems to be hitting a low of 11.7V though that isn't too terrible. Will have to wait for a crash to hit before I can tell.

I was going quite a while without a crash though I finally black screened myself by trying to Alt+Tab too many times, saw it coming. After that I ended up getting the random crashes again. It didn't seem to be due to the 12V rail instability with the lowest it ever went being only 11.8 or slightly lower. Was looking at CPU usage percentages and those seemed to go near max at times though never in all cores at the same time and never really that high at the time of freezing/crashing.

Once again not sure where to look except perhaps purchasing another PSU or motherboard or both or trying a clean reinstall.

Hey I'll throw out some ideas for you. Run a mem test to see if you have ram instability issues. Makes sure your mobo bios is up to date and that it supports that cpu. Reset bios to stock if you have overclocked anything.
