Question: Cooling the i7 6700k with the stock fan from the Amd fx-6300

No. First of all, they dont use the same mounting bracket. Also, while they are rated around the same TDP, the 6700k is generally going to pull more power and be too hot on that cooler.

If you can mount it and underclock the 6700k a bit, yes, it is safe.
Only problem is, I don't think you can mount it, without a custom mounting bracket.
What you could do is grab a cheap cooler from a store near you for the time being.

But if he can go find a socket mount adapter than he could easily just find a new fan for the time being, which will be likely the same price and a whole lot easier to find.
