Mother Board to pair with i5 6600k and GTX 1070

So I am in the slow process of upgrading my system. I've already installed a GTX 1070 thanks to neweggs black friday week. But of course with my current cpu, AMD FX 8320, is not helping it reach full potential.

I'll be gaming, streaming, lite video editing, and graphic desgning on this system. And thanks to an earlier post, an i5 6600k seems to be a nice cpu to use with my budget.

So I'm wondering what is a decently priced mobo to pair in my system. I'm currently at 16gbs of ram and have 1 ssd and 2 1TB hdds in the system.

Of course the budget is around $300-$400 US dollars. With the cpu taking about 230 away. I'd like try my hand at overclocking, but unsure since I've never done it before.

Sorry for the rambling. Any help is great.

Is the RAM you have DDR3, DDR3L or DDR4?

That really limits your choices then, there are only 4 Z170 motherboards I know of that support DDR3, the ASUS Z170-P D3 probably being the best one. The other boards are the ASUS Z170M-E D3, Gigabyte Z170-HD3 DDR3 and the ASRock Z170 Gaming K4/D3.

Dont use the ddr3. Just use the extra $50 that my list included in your budget and spend 10-20 more on 2x8gb DDR4 DIMMS. You will need them for your next build anyway so why not get them now.

Yeah, overall the best option would be to sell your current 16GB DDR3 kit and get a decent Z170 motherboard and 16GB of decent DDR4 RAM, unfortunately the price is spiking right now though.

Hmmm, dangit. This gonna probably set me back then. Seeing as a new set of ram was not in mind. Nor in the budget. Quite a problem
