Hi
I have a old laptop Samsung qx412 i5 4g ram 320 hdd. My question is how much an ssd can effect performance of laptop and what kind of performance will be affected for ex dose rendering by video editing and photo editing will be faster or dose web browsing will be faster?
If there is any comprehensive review about this I appreciate share the link here.
Best regards

Hey there, Mj1984.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that laptop model has SATA II interface (you should be able to check that in the laptop's user manual). This means that if you get an SSD it will be bottlenecked by the older SATA revision (SATA II - 300MB/s; SATA III - 600MB/s). However, even capped at 300MB/s you should still get a noticeable performance boost if you use an SSD for your OS. Everything will load much faster and you should be able to take full advantage of the SSD's faster access time, compared to an HDD.

As for video/photo editing and video rendering, the performance boost won't be so significant. For video rendering the main role is played by your CPU. More RAM and a GPU with more memory would also speed things up...

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
