I am currently using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. And when I browse the microsoft redistributables, I noticed that there are x86 and x64 versions. So what do I need to install the x64 or the x86? Or maybe both?? And also please clarify these, if you are on a 32 bit operating system do you need the x64 version? And if you're on a 64 bit operating system, do you need the x86 version? So in simpler words, 32 for x64? Or 64 bit for x86?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

Solution
X86 = 32-bit
X64 = 64-bit

They are 64-bit libraries for 64-bit programs and 32-bit libraries for 32-bit programs. The two are NOT interchangable. Just leave them be, the system will manage them far better than you ever could.

Yes I know that but there are x64 and x86 versions. I only want to know specifically what version of the operating system needs this version. For example, x64 is for 32 bit or x86 for 64 bit? Like that I need you to clarify this.
