Which motherboard stand-offs to use?

Hello guys,

I am currently building my PC for the first time and while looking at the screws I got from my PC casing, I saw 2 types of motherboard stand-offs....

There are 7 of these stand-offs shown below:

There are 2 of these stand-offs shown below:

Please help me. Which ones should I be using? There are no further instructions about them from the instructions manual of the chassis. I'm confused.

How many places for standoffs do you have on your motherboard?
I'll take a wild guess and say - it's more than 2.

Go with first option.

OK, I'll go for the first stand-off. But what's the purpose of the second stand-off?

Measure the total length of both types of stand-offs. Perhaps they are the same, if you include the "collar" of the second type. Or they may have included the 2 different ones in your package by mistake. I doubt that there are more than 7 stand-offs needed to secure your motherboard.

You may need to use all of them anyway depending on form factor of your motherboard.
Only m-itx boards use 4 screws.
M-atx and atx use 8 or 9 screws. So - 7 might not be enough.

There are actually only 6 holes in my motherboard. So should I use the first type of stand-off only?
