I removed my stock fan from my intel core i5 4460 for about 10-30 seconds about twice, because i wanted to see if my paste was applied good enough, because my cpu have reached some high temperature numbers the last days.

And if i need to reapply he cooling paste does this work?

Oh ok thank you. But should i buy new termal paste after all i didnt take it from the cpu that long.

Anytime you remove the CPU cooler / heatsink it is recommended that you replace the thermal paste. That's because taking it off and putting it back can create air pockets which does not help with transferring heat.

You can continue to use as is, but I recommend you use a program like Core Temp to monitor the CPU temperatures. If it gets too warm or hot, then you should replace the thermal paste. If you run CPU intensive programs and the CPU temperature get no hotter than 70C, then you should be okay. The CPU can still work even if is 80c, but it is best to not let the CPU run too hot because that can shorten it's life span.
