Is a Gigabyte Geforce gtx 1050 2gb compatible with a gigabyte ga-z170x-gaming 7?

I'm building my first computer and I don't wanna mess things up and end up having it not work when I build it, can someone help me with the compatibility of these two parts?

Can you post your other parts and your budget? That is a pretty expensive, high end motherboard and you are asking about a lowish end GPU. Don't get me wrong, the 1050 is okay but if you are spending quite a bit more on the motherboard than the GPU it seems like your build probably has some pretty big balance issues.

My guess is that some parts could be changed that would make this build perform significantly better in games for the same amount of money.
