Are My PC Temperatures good for a i7 4790k build?

Solution

Your Vcore is too high at idle, and should be only about 0.0800 or perhaps a bit less toward 0.0725. Also, utilities such as Core Temp or Hardware Info should show about 2 Watts at dead idle. If the power saving features in BIOS are disabled, this can certainly account for your Core temperatures at idle being higher than expected, which for your hardware configuration and ambient temperature, should be about 28C.

Read this Sticky and follow the procedures in Sections 13 & 14 to perform a proper thermal test at load and idle to find your valid thermal baseline Core temperatures: Intel Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

It's best to get temps from within windows, the bios will often read higher idle temps since speedstep isn't in effect. Let the pc idle for around 5-10min and check the temps with something like realtemp. Temps in the mid to low 30's at idle is pretty normal though load temps are important as well. Try using p95 version 26.6 with small fft's and check temps under load. Temps will depend on a number of things, which cooler you're using, adequate case airflow, ambient room temps etc.

Have a read here, it's an intel temp guide stickied on the forum. Lots of good info.
