Is there a program that I can wipe my hard drive (including drivers) to install in my new computer....???
I am currently building a pc and was going to reuse this hdd sata, but i need to know how to wipe it :p
I am currently done connecting everything except the HDD...
I also have a new copy of windows...

Solution

Assuming you are booting from the correct thing (your USB), when it asks 'where' to install, select Custom.
You will be presented with a list of existing partitions.
Delete each of these, leaving one large blank space.
Let Windows install to that, creating what it needs.
If it's the HDD you are using and need to do it from outside your OS, delete all partitions on the Windows installation screen is easiest. Boot from installation media then when asked where to install, delete all partitions and install to totally blank drive.

im not very tech savy, sorry i should have said that... So I will need to be walked through this like a noob:(
So I have no clue what you guys are saying... :(
Again I am sorry for not explaining that...
I was under the impression I have to wipe all my drivers and data before transplanting my hdd...???

What do you have your copy of Windows on? Attach it to your new system, go through the steps to install, then when you get to the point it asks you where to install, you will see partitions on the disk. Select them one at a time and choose delete until all it says is unallocated space, then choose that and proceed with installation.

I believe it is a CD, I have to run to my my sisters house and grab it.
So I install windows, and delete everything when it asks me where to install?

Will this allow my computer to boot up? Because the only thing I am going to have from my old comp is the hdd, it is all new hardware...

The interesting stuff starts a couple of pages down: http://www.pcworld.com/article/261702/how_to_securely_erase_your_hard_drive.html
Do bear in mind, scrubbing a HDD will take quite a long time.

Unless you have sensitive data on the drive the easiest way to prepare it is, as has been said, to just format it during the Windows install in detail:
With the system fully assembled start it up and let it do whatever it wants, wait until it stops booting or halts with a Windows error.
Insert your install disc. **
Power down (if it halts with an error, just turn it off) and wait for a slow count of thirty. **
Power up but during the startup get into the BIOS, consult the motherboard manual as to which key to hold.
Once in BIOS change the boot order so the DVD drive is selected as first boot device, then select the 'save the settings and restart' option, again, check the motherboard manual.
The system should now start from the DVD drive and you'll begin the install process.
After a few screens you'll see one that offers you a choice of which drive/partition you want to install to.
Delete ALL the existing partitions until the screen shows just one, large volume.
Here you now have a choice you can create several partitions on the single disc (Windows will treat each partition as a separate disc) or just to format the entire disc as a single volume.
Select your chosen partition, use the 'format' option and wait until the operation is finished, the screen should now show two partitions: One very large one and a much smaller one marked as 'system reserved'.
Install to the partition you just formatted.
Once the Windows install is finished, restart and change the boot order so that the system boots from the HDD, again, save and exit the BIOS.
If you don't change the boot order, the install will start all over again, if you see that happening, remove the install DVD and do a reset using the power button.
Once the Windows install is over you should install the motherboard drivers: Chipset, Sound, internet, in that order, restarting as required.
EDIT: Substitute 'USB' for DVD and skip the parts marked ** ;)

okay, so just to be clear, all my files will still be on my pc?
And windows 8 won't throw a bitch fit and fight with me?
EDIT: should I reset my computer before I do this? (Delete all my files)
I already backed up the ones I care about.

Sweet that is what I wanted!
So much bloat ware on this computer now, So just to make sure I am not stupid...
I install my HDD, plug in the usb, power on the comp, boot from USB, put in key code on windows, install normally...
Then I put in motherboard and graphics card cd's install them, then the computer should work?
