Hello, i want to upgrade my cpu without having to upgrade my mobo. I have an asus p7h55d-m evo, an asus strix gtx 960 2gb, 8 gigs of ram, and a 750W psu. My i5 661 isnt doing my gpu any justice and it looks like its dying. Will i be fine just by upgrading my cpu, and if so, which one do you suggest i get, or should i just get a new motherboard and generally upgrade my system as a whole?

Solution
Pretty much what Multipack suggested. Even an i3 6100 would be a performance improvement. Throwing more money into that system is going to be wasted on minimal improvements.

Would it be a good idea to build a new system around my gpu? Im not looking for the best build possible, i just want a pc that'll play most games at 1080p with a decent performance. Will building a new pc around my 960 satisfy my needs?
