Very high ping in games but have good internet

So I recently started getting very high ping in online games, the main ones being CS:GO and overwatch. I initially thought it was an interment issue so I restated my router and PC and tried again but I was still feting a constant ping of around 100 with spikes going over 300. I then did an internet speed test and that was the same as usual, around 8mb/s download and 7mb/s upload. I then opened up the performance tab on the task manager and went down to WiFi, when I was doing the speed test, the receive/send was good, at what I would expect and easily over 5mb/s, but when I went in to a game of overwatch, these would shoot down to around 200kb/s.

I have tried restarting my router several times but I doubt that's the issue, I also tried playing overwatch on my laptop, and I got no lag whatsoever, so I'm pretty sure this is a PC issue.
Please Help!!! Thanks.

Location of your computer could be the problem. Check the vicinity around the computer and see what other things that are there to interfere. Noisy electronics or neighbors things like that. Download and up load speeds are completely different things then ping. Ping is the time it takes for the packets to travel from place to place in miliseconds. You can also do a wireless survey and see what is around you and make sure something else isn't on the same channel aas your router. If you find that there are change the channel on your router and see if that doesn't help.

I also did a ping test and that came out with 6ms. I dont really see anything that could be interfearing and I also did my laptop test in the same location as my computer and got a low ping. I don't know how complex a wireless survey is but from what I gathered from a quick google, its not simple. Also this is a very new issue and I have played online games in the same location where I am now with no issues.

You can do a simple survey with a cell phone or your computer. Where you select your wireless network you should be able to see any access point in the area. It will show you what frequency, channel, and any kind of security running on those devices. If you are looking for any kind of signal that interferes then that is very complex and time consuming. That you probably don't want to do. Things like microwaves and any kind of motor will cause noise and interfere. Just a couple fo things to look at. Interfering devices or signals will come and go as they are on intermittently. What you have to look at is not whether it is on now but does it run and is it in the path of the signal or even in the vicinity of your signal.

Ok I did the survey and there are no interfering channels or frequencies, as for devices with motors, there are non anywhere near my setup.

I did think of this and have ordered a long enough ethernet cable to reach, I'll update if it works/doesn't

Right, so sorry for the long delay between replies but i've made progress. When using an ethernet cable my ping drops to below 20 and my download speeds dramatically increase, however I move around quite a bit and I usually attempt to bring my setup with me, I am currently in a location where ethernet is not possible, again I get good download and ping speed tests and Overwatch gets fine ping on my laptop so im pretty sure this is a PC issue, could it possibly be my wifi card? Please help as something is very wrong here
