Hi,
I got a i7 6700k that spikes in temperature, it can spike fom 20-22c to 40-50c and back again in under a second, it's doing this while having eg. chrome open and some other small applications, but nothing significant.
I can have a game session playing eg. watch dogs 2, for a couple of hours and the cpu wont do these spikes, but as soon as i'm edeting a word file or browsing the web it does.
I dont know why it does this, it began to do from one day to the other, i didn't change anything ????

i have a OC @4.6GHz and auto voltage.

help please :)

Solution
That auto voltage may be causing it. Set the voltage to 1.1v and see if the system is stable. If not add 0.05v until the system is stable. Once the system is stable then you can monitor the temps to see of the voltage spike happens
