asus not recognizing newly installed ram

asus not recognizing new ram just installed it was 6 gb before now with the new one it should be 8 gb why this happend in msconfig>boot>advanced i unticked maximum ram limit please help

It's because your probably mixing RAM sticks. You cannot mix RAM the has different cas latency, timings and recommended voltage.

maybe because the first one has 4 chip and the new ram has 16 chip
also the manufactor is different the laptop orginal is apacer the new one adata
