Hi this problem has suddenly appeared out of nowhere today. Whenever I try to run a game, the screen suddenly blacks out then my desktop reappears with the notification "default wattman settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure." Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I don't even use Wattman or know what that is, and I have tried searching for solutions to this problem with no solutions appearing. I have tried performing a complete system restore, and tried clean uninstalling then reinstalling the amd drivers yet it still does not seem to work. Help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you

Try to uninstall any 3-rd party overclocking software you may have because they're probably conflicting with Radeon Wattmann (AMD's own overclocking utility). I...

I have already tried uninstalling then reinstalling the drivers but that does not seem to work. Also I've had the update for a while now and I've run my games perfectly well on it yet how come they won't run anymore now?

Same problem. Installed the latest Radeon 16.12 drivers and i'm suddenly getting random "Default Wattman settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure" error messages. I'm guessing this is a bug within the latest drivers and we have to wait until AMD fixes this (sigh).

I've tried installing it after a while, I even installed v. 17.1 of the AMD drivers yet it still keeps crashing and displaying the "wattman" error message. Luckily i can still play games with the drivers that the windows installed after i completely uninstalled the AMD drivers.

Try to uninstall any 3-rd party overclocking software you may have because they're probably conflicting with Radeon Wattmann (AMD's own overclocking utility). I removed MSI Afterburner and the error messages have since disappeared for me.
