Hey all, I just recently got the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 for school and gaming, and decided to buy and install an SSD as a boot and windows drive and just use the 1tb HDD to store regular files and what-not. First off, I've been following this guide here:

http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows

I thought that this guide would help but I'm stuck on Part Four. I've physically installed the SSD in the correct slot, I've cloned the disk partition from my HDD, but I tried to boot from the SSD and got stuck. The BIOS is extremely confusing and doesn't make it clear that booting from the SSD is even an option. What do I do from here?

Solution
Ignore that lifehacker thing.
You almost certainly missed the boot partition, among other things.

Redo it.

Return the laptop to original working condition with the old drive (if it is not too late)

Put the new SSD in the second slot
Boot from the original drive and do all this stuff:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it...

Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:
